About

Max Panter is an artist from Birmingham, AL. Hailing from Homewood, Max began sketching and drawing as soon as he could hold a pencil. When he was very young, his Grandpa Ed worked at a factory that made long rolls of paper, which he used to unfurl for Max and his brother to draw on in their garage. His mother says that from the very start something about his work was "just better." Max continued to draw, sketch, and paint throughout elementary and high school, and eventually, he pursued a Music Education degree at Jacksonville State University. After school, Max really dove into his art work, creating award-winning commissioned artwork.

He specialized in large scale non-traditional acrylic painting on a plethora of subjects. Using a variety of tools, Max creates his paintings using a unique combination of CDs, paint pens, spray paint, his hands, and a paintbrush only when needed. He is as also an accomplished sketch and comic book artist.
